What are ceramic corner pieces used for?
Ceramic corner pieces are special pieces used to resolve and protect corner joints in tile installations. Their main uses are:
1. Protection of outside corners
They are placed on protruding corners to prevent breakage, impacts, or chipping, as these are particularly vulnerable areas. Ceramic provides strength and a more durable finish than a mitered corner.
2. Aesthetic edge finish
They offer a clean and uniform finish where two walls or two ceramic surfaces meet. They allow for visual continuity in color and texture, as they are made of the same material as the tiles.
3. 90° Ceramic Joints: Facilitate installation at angled intersections, such as wall corners, column edges, pillar cladding, or clad structures, eliminating complex cuts and ensuring a perfect fit. 4. Improved Hygiene and Easier Maintenance: By covering the corner with a single piece and without cut edges, dirt accumulation is reduced and cleaning is facilitated, especially in bathrooms, kitchens, and wet areas. 5. Safety in Walkways: Well-finished ceramic corners help prevent cuts or sharp edges in transit areas, making the space safer, especially in homes, schools, or healthcare facilities. 6. Durability in High-Wear Areas: They are used in areas where friction is frequent: hallways, entrances, sides of clad countertops, ceramic frames, etc. The corner bracket protects the corner from daily wear and tear and keeps the cladding in good condition for longer.
